Skyline Group is a Canadian company that manufactures and sells roof safety and access systems such as permanent ladders, guardrail, and walkway systems to clients throughout Canada.

The Cutter & Fabrication Assistant supports the fabrication team with the goal to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Position responsibilities include cutting and assembling material, reading drawings, assisting welders, and performing other duties in the warehouse as required.

Duties Include:

Assisting welders as required with fabrication projects.
Accurately and efficiently assemble straight posts, corner posts, and out riggers.
Complete and install projects accurately and per stamped drawing specifications and installation manuals.
Maintain a strong work ethic by using time fully and effectively.
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
Operate and preventatively maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment.
Report any discrepancies.
Follow quality service standards and comply with company policies and procedures, industry codes, standards, and regulations.
Other duties or tasks as assigned.
Proven working experience in a shop hand/welder role.
Ability to operate potentially dangerous equipment with advanced knowledge of required safety precautions.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Expert knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties.
Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
Expert ability to take measurements to plan layout and follow procedures accurately.
Familiarity with modern warehouse practices and methods.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to effectively communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
Team player with a positive "cando" attitude.
Posses or ability to obtain forklift operation certification.
High school diploma
Language proficiency: English with French language skills considered an asset.
