The Logistics Specialist, Import / Export will be responsible for daily activities to support U.S. import / export shipments to global customers for Veolia Water Technologies Solutions (WTS) business.
In this role you will communicate directly with customers for PO processing, order status, and shipment documentation.
You will liaise between WTS production facilities and third-party suppliers with freight forwarders, carriers, and brokers to meet on-time delivery, cost goals,and compliance requirements.
You will be responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity.In this role, you will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day short-term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
In addition, you will:
Execute fulfilment of US import / export shipments for chemicals and equipment demand for global WTS sites and external customers
Coordinate international logistics arrangements via ocean and/or air, liaising with freight forwarders, in-land / drayage carriers, and brokers to meet requested delivery dates,while optimising freight costs
Oversee US import operations, including preparation of documentation for return goods, troubleshooting of customs clearance issues, and arrangement of in-land deliveries for US in-bound shipments
Ensure compliance and segregation rules are followed for dangerous goods, enabling the proper booking and transport of materials
Prepare and facilitate collection of all required documentation for shipments, including the timely submission of customs documents to facilitate fast, accurate deliveries
Facilitate with International Trade Control (ITC) and Global Growth Organization (GGO)teams for classification of products (ECCN / HTS / Schedule B), ADD / CV reviews,NAFTA / FTA documents, and country of origin (COO) verification
Process quotations with internal and external suppliers upon request
Facilitate other customer requests related to orders, billings, purchasing and documentation
Pursue logistics functional excellence in all areas
Lead VCP Logistics cost saving and process improvement projects
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain / Logistics from an accredited college or university
Prior experience in import / export compliance, third party logistics, customer service, and operations
Dangerous goods transportation experience, including current certification to handle DG shipments for IMDG, DOT / 49 CFR, and IATA
Knowledge of US and EU export regulations, foreign customs requirements, letters of credit, trade finance programs, free trade agreements and international logistics and shipping requirements
Ability to adapt to / drive change across a global team in a dynamic business
Ability to work rotating shifts Monday - Fridays, 8:00-4:30, 8:30-5:00, 9:30-6:00
