    Position Overview

    :

    This is an entry level sales position for individuals with little to no experience in sales.The role is an hourly position and is primarily a sales support role. This role typically exists where a book of business is extremely small or no book currently exists.This role's duration is typically one to two years in length after which this role converts to a fully commissioned Sales Rep position.

    There is heavy focus on building a strong foundation of product knowledge and systems and processes used to support customers so that the incumbent can take on and/or grow a book of business.

    We passionately serve customers in the JanSan, Foodservice, and Industrial Packaging markets, delivering the right products and solutions to ensure their businesses are more successful everyday.

    Salary Range : The salary range for the position is $66,000 to $72,000 annually based on experience.

    Responsibilities :

  • Assist Sales Department with a variety of tasks such as customer inquiries, order entry, delivery status updates, inventory levels, etc.
  • Learn to hunt and develop new business by providing customers with consultative support and active communication.
  • Assist Sales team by targeting dormant leads and transform leads into new accounts.
  • Develop skills to manage a territory's activity, development, and repeat sales.
  • Learn and master administrative support tools such as order entry, customer relationship management (CRM) and pricing and contracting.
  • Participate in product demonstrations.
  • Assist with researching potential new business, "Prospecting".
  • Cold call and visit with targeted prospects.
  • Assist with developing sales proposals, quotes, and product research (specification and capabilities)
  • Assist with promotional activities such as trade show events, local training events, etc.
  • Attend foundational training courses: SPP, Chem 101, and CSP.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • High level attention to detail with sharp trouble-shooting skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a group environment.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and stay organized.
  • Self-starter and capable of working effectively with interruption.
  • Organized and able to self-manage.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and follow through skills.
  • Retail, customer service, or sales experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to drive a personal vehicle to and from customer locations.
  • Valid driver's license.
