ParaMed Home Health Care is hiring CCA/CCAIT staff:

Position Overview:


ParaMed CCA/CCAITs provide individualized care that is sensitive to patients' unique needs, providing assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) and Independent Activities of Daily Living (IADL's) through a patient specific assignment working under the direction of and in collaboration with a regulated health care professional.

CCA/CCAIT care takes place within the community and requires travel to patient residences within the Halifax Region area and surrounding areas.

Location(s): Halifax Region


Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Personal care and personal care assistance to the patient
  • Household task assistance
  • Cognitive, emotional and psychological to support for patients and patient families
  • Documents information pertinent to the care plan electronically via allotted ParaMed work device
  • Adhere to the ParaMed policies in all interactions with patients, families or other parties ensuring privacy and confidentiality;

Requirements:


  • Education: CCA or CCAIT designation or equivalent education (internationally trained healthcare professionals and students currently enrolled in accredited health care disciplines are welcome to apply)
  • Experience: Experience working with acutely ill, chronically ill, or palliative patients is considered a strong asset
  • Certificates: Current CPR/First Aid obtained within Canada is strongly preferred
  • CRC/

VSS:
Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Check is required

  • Availability: Availability to work either day and/or evening shifts and every other weekend is required
  • General Skills and Abilities: Effective oral and written communication skills; Must be comfortable documenting information electronically; Ability to demonstrate compassion, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with patients and their families
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to and from patient residences within a designated area is required; A valid license and vehicle is preferred
