The Galileo Garden's Event Set-Up Staff is responsible for set-up of events as well as cleaning and maintaining banquet functions as directed by the Event Manager.


When you first get involved with event setup, you might simply arrive the day of the event and help set up the site.

You'll put equipment in staging areas where it will be erected or assembled by more experienced setup people and act as a "go-fer" who runs errands for more senior staff.


Typical setup activities include erecting tents, putting up the pipe and drape configuration that creates trade show booths, setting up tables and chairs, helping with audio-visual equipment, hanging signs, placing decorations, setting out materials such as program books and putting together buffet tables.

The setup crew will help take down events, taking inventory of all items and packing them so they are ready for easy use at the next event.

Event setup crews often inventory and examine rental items after the event to make sure everything is returned intact, or that damaged items are documented to prevent a rental company for claiming more damage than actually occurred


General Responsibilities:


  • Setup and teardown of the meeting and event rooms as outlined by the Event Manager
  • Prepare room environment such as lighting and temperature
  • Ensure that all decorations have been set properly according to the Event Manager
  • Maintain venue including vacuuming floors, cleaning walls, windows and mirrors
  • Proper care, movement, storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, risers, dance floor, etc

$16.55 per hour

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Holidays
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
