The
Assistant Program Facilitator will contribute to the development and delivery of respite, life skills, recreational and employment preparation programs for youth and adults with disabilities.


Overall Accountability:

The Assistant Program Facilitator at the West location reports to the Manager of Services


Major Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Plan special events and activities for respite, life skills and recreational programs
  • Provide individualized support to program participants in class to help them achieve their goals
  • Prepare curriculumbased materials and resources in advance of training sessions
  • Assist training facilitators by providing inclass mentorship and tutoring to participants
  • Organize information sessions for agencies, families, and participants
  • Ensure and encourage an engaging, safe, interactive, and empowering environment for participants
  • Supervise participants during breaks and lunch
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and order when required
  • Provide administrative supports as needed
  • Ensure that Corbrook's health, safety and risk policies and protocols are followed
  • Prepare reports and documentation as required
  • Liaise with and support all staff, when requested

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Enrollment in a postsecondary degree or diploma in the Social Sciences or
Developmental Services

  • Critical thinker and problemsolver
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and/or evenings as per program, operational or participant need
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent spoken and written communication
  • Organized, ability to multitask and deal effectively with stress
  • A satisfactory Police Reference Check
  • Vulnerable Sector Search

Additional Assets:


  • Certification in CPR/First Aid and Safe Management/CPI, NVCI or MCSS recognized crisis intervention training
  • Fluency in ASL (American Sign Language) or a second language

COVID-19 Considerations:

Corbrook has a mandatory Vaccination Policy, and all staff are required to be fully vaccinated (2 doses). Masking is also standard procedure when working with the people we support.

$41,743.22-$50,000.00 per year
