The Volunteer Experience Specialist will report to the Director of Community Programs at the National Office and should possess experience in team collaboration, since the National Office works closely with regional SJA offices (known as Councils).

Relationship building with various stakeholders within the organization will be imperative to success. SJA also has various departments such as marketing, training, and IM/IT to support improved recruitment and onboarding practices.

Responsibilities

  • Working collaboratively with regional SJA offices to improve the experience for members joining SJA as volunteers.
  • Communicating with regional SJA offices and key stakeholders to ensure timely and transparent communication between regional SJA offices and National Office.
  • Reviewing and reporting on current recruitment and onboarding practices for SJA locations across Canada.
  • Supporting interdepartmental work to develop processes to support full cycle recruitment and onboarding for new volunteers.
  • Assisting with the development of documents and materials for policy, recruitment, onboarding, data entry etc.
  • Reviewing nationwide volunteer retention efforts, assessing the success of the efforts, and enabling the sharing of best practices to create same/similar practices across Canada.

Qualifications

  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment.
  • A dynamic personality able to generate and maintain professional relationships within the organization.
  • A curious and analytical mind, capable of proposing and operationalizing creative problemsolving methods.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience hiring and onboarding volunteer resources.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to write for a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to produce outputs in a timely manner.
  • A postsecondary diploma/degree or a suitable combination of education and working experience.
  • Experience within the notforprofit sector is an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or a similar CRM is an asset.
  • Fluency in French and English communications is an asset.

L'établissement de relations avec les différent(e)s intervenant(e)s au sein de l'organisation sera impératif pour réussir.
