***: The Director of Service Integrity (DSI) at Anishinaabe Abinoojii Family Services (AAFS) ensures the organization's commitment to delivering comprehensive, culturally sensitive, and legally compliant services to First Nation children, families, and communities. The DSI oversees service integrity, compliance with relevant legislation, and quality assurance measures. This role involves close collaboration with the Executive Director and other senior leaders to drive continuous improvement initiatives and uphold service excellence and cultural relevance.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Master's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field; Bachelor's degree with significant experience considered.
  • Minimum of five years of management experience in a social service agency, with expertise in compliance and quality assurance, and a strong understanding of relevant legislation (Bill C92, CYFSA, child welfare laws).
  • Proven ability to work effectively with First Nation communities, demonstrating cultural competency and strong leadership, organizational, and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with Board members.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on results.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to research community needs, plan services, and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Valid Ontario G Driver's License, willingness to travel, clear Vulnerable Sector Check, and Driver's Abstract required.
  • Fluency in Ojibway language with a strong understanding of Anishinaabe culture and traditions is a definite asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensure services align with relevant legislation (e.g., Bill C92, CYFSA, Grand Council Treaty 3 Child Care Law) and update organizational policies as needed.
  • Conduct audits and reviews of service delivery processes, maintain a compliance framework, and provide legal guidance to senior management.
  • Communicate the status of children in the Agency's care to respective First Nations communities.
  • Supervise Resource Managers and specialist staff, participate in case conferences, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, monitor performance indicators, and gather client feedback.
  • Develop, review, and update policies and procedures, ensuring staff training and consistent implementation.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with First Nation Chiefs, Councils, and community members, advocating for the needs and rights of First Nation children and families.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on service integrity and compliance, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure transparent communication with the Board of Directors.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to service delivery, develop emergency response plans, and manage the budget for compliance and quality assurance activities.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining position descriptions and salary schedules, consult with First Nation Chiefs and Councils, and conduct research on community needs.
  • Advocate for government support for culturally appropriate child welfare services and participate in special projects and the development of the AAFS annual Service Plan.

WORKING CONDITIONS:


Work normal business hours but may be required to do some work in the evenings or outside normal working hours.

Able to work on a computer for long periods of time.

Required to spend long hours concentrating which will require attention to detail and high levels of accuracy; and required to meet a number of deadlines which may cause stress.

Travel to semi-remote Anishinaabe communities on rough and winding class "C" roadways.


Salary:
$100,291-$123,000
