Position Overview

Under general supervision and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St.

Boniface General Hospital, the Administrative Secretary is responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support to an individual (s) and/or a department in a clinical or administrative area within the hospital.

Experience
Two (2) years secretarial experience preferably in a hospital or other health care setting.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Clinical Positions;
Grade XII or recognized equivalent.
Successful completion of a recognized medical secretarial program, or;
Successful completion of a recognized secretarial or administrative secretarial program, plus successful completion of a recognized medical terminology course.
Non-Clinical Positions.
Grade XII or recognized equivalent.
Successful completion of a recognized secretarial or administrative secretarial program.
Certification/Licensure/Registration

Qualifications and Skills


Keyboarding speed: 55 wpm.

Knowledge of University administrative procedures would be an asset in clinical areas.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand French may be a required in certain positions.
Ability to take shorthand may be required in certain positions.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
