Our Montreal location in Quebec, Canada is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Sales Manager - Wood Products -Southern Yellow Pine.

This job is permanent, full-time.


Challenges

The position of Sales Manager, Southern-Yellow Pine (SYP), is part of our Wood Products team.

You will be responsible for revenue from sales and marketing of our spruce, pine and fir products to retail, industrial and manufacturing customers.


Your main responsibilities will be the following**:

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the SYP sales team trading floor and its performance
  • Identify and implement strategies and initiatives to improve the SPF sales team's performance
  • Ensure effective management of sales distribution
  • Develop and execute innovative sales strategies
  • Supervise, manage and mobilize the sales team
  • Ensure the team is accountable in terms of KPIs and Company targets
  • Assume responsibility for sales and relations involving strategic customers
  • Process and qualify potential new customers
  • Monitor the market and report market info daily, weekly to upper management
  • Work with other departments to maximize customer satisfaction and corporate revenue
  • Continuously assess how the sales team uses tools to accomplish daily functions and optimize processes for increased effectiveness
  • Provide guidance and support to the planning and logistics team
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis for customer meetings and trade shows
Reporting to the Sr.

Director SYP, you will be a member of a dynamic team that is recognized for its ability to excel in a complex, changing environment.


The ideal profile

  • Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in marketing or operations management, or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of sales experience in a businesstobusiness (B2B) context
  • 5 years of experience in managing sales team
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team
  • Highly developed creativity and sense of innovation
  • At least 5 years of experience in wood products
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Ability to supervise a sales team
  • Strong, collaborative relationship building, along with analytical and proactive problemsolving skills
  • Ability to identify and develop potential customers and markets
  • Knowledge of the industry and its North American decision makers
  • Sales and negotiating skills
  • Selfreliance and motivation
  • Analytical turn of mind
  • Ability to influence
  • Ability to work as a team member and to adapt quickly to change
