Position Summary


Does a career in policing excite you and you want to learn more? Peel Regional Police has developed a Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) to give youths like you an opportunity to learn about your police service and how it engages and contributes to the safety and well-being of our community.

As a YIPI Student, you will participate in a work environment that will help to increase your job skills, give back to your community and participate in a summer of fun and engaging opportunities.

Our goal is to give you valuable work experience through Workshops, Fitness and Placements


Responsibilities:

What will your typical day look like? Work with Peel Regional Police and community partners and leaders Receive mentorship and leadership opportunities Based primarily at Sheridan College (Davis Campus-Brampton); participate in certificate programs and receive an introduction to a post-secondary education environment Participate in activities that will benefit your community Listen and learn from guest speakers about topics, such as public speaking, healthy relationships and financial planning Improve your fitness level Shadow officers and tour Peel Regional Police facilities during placements

You are someone that is currently: Attending high school full-time within the Region of Peel Residing in the Region of Peel Between the ages of 15-18 Available July 4-August 25, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Ability to self-transport to various locations in Peel Regional Police

The hourly wage for these temporary, full-time positions is $15.50.
