    The Opportunity:

    Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to act as the primary finance partner for its North American Retail / Packaged Foods division. This role serves as the single point of contact for the division and plays a critical role in financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial decision support.

    The position is on-site in Mississauga, Ontario and offers strong exposure to senior leadership across commercial, operations, and supply chain functions.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Consolidate and analyze financial results, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and transparency
    • Prepare detailed monthly reporting, including margin and profitability analysis by product, customer, and channel
    • Track and analyze value-added metrics such as product mix, yield variances, cost-to-serve, and customer profitability
    • Develop and maintain recurring reporting packages and dashboards highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities
    • Provide financial insights to commercial leadership to support pricing, trade spend, and promotional strategies
    • Support month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, revenue recognition, cost allocations, and account reconciliations
    • Reconcile key accounts including inventory, COGS, promotional spend, rebates, and trade deductions
    • Partner with accounting and operations to ensure accurate cost flows, standard costing, and variance explanations
    • Support audit and compliance requirements through documentation and reconciliations
    • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, building assumptions around sales volumes, product mix, pricing, and processing costs
    • Collaborate with commercial teams to forecast sales by customer and channel, reflecting seasonality and promotions
    • Analyze budget versus actual performance and deliver actionable variance explanations
    • Serve as a finance business partner translating operational performance into meaningful financial insights
    • Monitor processing yields, production costs, and overhead absorption to identify efficiency opportunities
    • Analyze customer profitability, promotional effectiveness, and ROI on product and packaging initiatives
    • Provide financial decision support for capital investments and growth initiatives
    • Build, enhance, and automate reporting tools for sales, margin, and operational KPIs

    Ideal Qualifications & Competencies:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline; CPA designation or progress toward CPA strongly preferred
    • 5–7 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, ideally within food processing, consumer packaged goods, or commodity-based businesses
    • Strong background in financial reporting, product costing, and margin analysis
    • Experience supporting commercial teams with pricing, trade spend, and customer profitability analysis
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across commercial, operations, and supply chain teams
    • Highly analytical with strong problem-solving and decision-support capabilities
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
