POSITION OVERVIEW


Are you ready to share your talent and creativity to play a concrete part in the success of Canadian entrepreneurs? BDC is recruiting for the position of Advisor, Sponsorships and Event Marketing, which is the person responsible for creating inclusive events and sponsorships that delight our clients and meet the needs of our different lines of business.

As part of a diverse and agile team, you will help fuel marketing and sales efforts by developing experiences in which entrepreneurs leave inspired, educated and excited to create more.


CHALLENGES TO BE MET- Act as an event manager and execute memorable brand experience for all participants, both virtual and/or in-person, ranging from large conferences and webinars to small workshops, and develop communication materials to constantly improve overall experience and meet business objectives.- Identify, recommend, negotiate, implement and evaluate national or major sponsorships and other communication activities related to priority sectors and segments of activity.- Scope/propose new events and activities based on marketing strategies and business opportunities that promote, enhance and protect the organization brand reputation.- Cross functionally partner with several teams across the organization to bring events and sponsorships to life by driving alignment between event goals, messaging, and measurable outcomes.- Serve as an internal reference for sharing event marketing best practices, tools and other resources to streamline event requests management in the organization and contribute to client acquisition and retention strategies.- Implement key performance indicators to evaluate success and align each activity or event, in particular visibility and business development.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
If you can answer YES to the following questions, you may be just the person we are looking for:

  • Do you have a bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, administration, marketing or a related field?
  • Do you have more than 5 years of experience in communications or in marketing in medium-size or large business with a national presence. Even better, is this experience in the financial sector and in B2B marketing?
  • Do you have 3 years of great experience with organizing, coordinating and implementing successful virtual/offline marketing events that deliver results?
  • Do you often make a difference with your business acumen?
  • Do you have very good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)? Even better, do you have knowledge of online event management software?
  • Do you consider yourself an autonomous, creative and detail-oriented person?
  • Do you have strong project management and multi-tasking skills, and an ability to deliver several projects within tight deadlines using Agile Marketing or Kanban methodology?
  • Do you have experience working with a diversity of audiences including women, Indigenous, Black and LGBTQ2+ entrepreneurs?
  • Are you comfortable communicating in English and French, written and spoken?
