Job Description:


The Transportation business line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented junior to intermediate civil technician for the Regina office.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:


  • Report to the Saskatchewan Transpiration Lead, provide engineering and technical support.
  • Provide assistance to Transportation disciplines (Roads, Rail, Structures) as project needs dictate.
  • Manage and perform field survey work including complete topographic survey requirements for roadways, culvert designs, and other construction projects. Preparing and communicating field notes, sketches, checklists, and digital data per required formats to support Project Managers.
  • Prepare conceptual and detailed design drawings that meets client and AECOM quality standards.
  • Prepare computer 3D and 2D models that can be used to generate plans, profiles, cross sections, and quantities.
  • Review field submissions to verify consistency with the approved construction drawings, and assisting with answering RFIs.
  • Periodically assist with field work, including surveying, soil testing, site reconnaissance, and construction management.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Technical Diploma (Civil Background).
  • 2+ years of civil design experience.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4+ years transportation materials testing experience.
  • Experience developing design basis memorandums, technical specifications and contract documents.
  • Project Management Experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office with experience in AUTOCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience in soil testing including sieve analysis, proctor, Atterberg limits, unconfined pressure tests and nuclear density testing.
  • Soil and water sampling using drilling and piezometers.
  • Team player who is willing to take ownership of assigned work with ability to establish and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Willingness for occasional field work and travel.
