Qualifications:

Successful completion of a recognized postsecondary education program in Laboratory Medicine
Commitment to complete education and obtain certification in OSMT (Ontario Society of Medical Technology)/ MLPAO (Medical Laboratory Professionals' Association of Ontario) or CSMLS (Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science) within 3 months of hire
Experience with and demonstrated understanding of quality assurance and standard laboratory practices
Recent experience working in a laboratory receiving room
Previous experience with a laboratory information system
Effective analytical and problem solving skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Must demonstrate ability to work independently and prioritize workload in a fast paced environment.
Must be able to work cooperatively and constructively with other team members.
Ability to meet physical demands

- constant walking and standing

Satisfactory attendance and performance required
