Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a recognized postsecondary education program in Laboratory Medicine
  • Commitment to complete education and obtain certification in OSMT (Ontario Society of Medical Technology)/ MLPAO (Medical Laboratory Professionals' Association of Ontario) or CSMLS (Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science) within 3 months of hire
  • Experience with and demonstrated understanding of quality assurance and standard laboratory practices
  • Recent experience working in a laboratory receiving room
  • Previous experience with a laboratory information system
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must demonstrate ability to work independently and prioritize workload in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and constructively with other team members.
  • Ability to meet physical demands
- constant walking and standing

  • Satisfactory attendance and performance required
