Your Opportunity


The purpose of this role is to manage, supervise, improve, plan, and coordinate the shipping operations within our company to ensure the schedule is maintained and our customers remain satisfied in all aspects of quality and delivery relating to the Distribution Department.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure Minus Forty QBD Corp. (DBA "Due North")'s 24hr Part's Policy is followed through. This is critical to the success of our company and gaining customer satisfaction when they have a complaint.
  • Compute amounts, such as space available, and shipping, storage, and trailer load patterns
  • Ensure circle checks are completed for all lifting devices, were applicable, according to Minus Forty QBD Corp. (DBA "Due North")'s Lift Truck Operating Policy
  • Ensure invoices and shipping manifests conform to tariff and customs regulations
  • Ensure necessary shipping documentation is available for the products being shipped
  • Ensure only the highest level of quality product is shipped to our customers by training team members and implementing systems to eliminate any potential shipping problems
  • Ensure products or materials have adequate estimates for quantities or weights and the type of container required for storage or transport
  • Interview, select, and train your department's staff
  • Issue loading instructions to ensure that delivery times are met
  • Manage departmental budgets
  • Manage the inspection of materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions according to Minus Forty QBD Corp. (DBA "Due North")'s Quality Assurance program.
  • Manage your department in accordance to Minus Forty QBD Corp. (DBA "Due North")'s Quality Assurance Policy and Minus Forty QBD Corp. (DBA "Due North")'s Operating Policies and Procedures
  • Monitor, maintain, and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficiency in regards to layouts, housekeeping, nonconforming materials and obsolescence
  • Review picking orders and forecasts in order to estimate peak delivery periods
  • Review production operations and resolve any problems, sometimes conferring with other departments or senior management in order to do so
  • Supervise the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, and shipping of products or materials

You Have

  • High School, G.E.D., postsecondary education preferred
  • Extensive knowledge in a shipping/receiving warehouse environment
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a fastpaced shipping/receiving warehouse environment
  • Full understanding of inventory management techniques and their impact on the business
  • Strong leadership, effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Deadline oriented, detailed and organized with exceptional analytical skills
  • Able to cultivate a positive and innovative work environment
  • Proactive and independent work style, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
  • Ability to adapt to change and work effectively in a fastpaced, dynamic environment
