Position Summary:

Maintain cleanliness of the campus building throughout the day and fulfill special requests as needed.

Incumbent must assure that the LCI philosophy:

quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and environment which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion - is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position.


Key Job Responsibilities:


  • Conduct opening procedure: while on building tour unlock; check restrooms; check for maintenance problems throughout building; check glass (hallway, display cases, entryway glass) and clean as needed; check stairwells; check employee and student lounge; and make coffee.
  • Check all restrooms at least 6 times per day, or more often if needed: replace disposable items; wipe counters, sinks, and mirrors; empty trash and pick up trash from floor.
  • Clean hallways and stairwells: check and clean as needed or at least on an hourly basis throughout the day.
  • Employee and student lounge, locker rooms, faculty work rooms, elevators, and door glass: check and clean (as needed) every hour throughout the day.
  • Check and clean offices (ex. Admissions Department) as needed.
  • Maintain janitor closets stock when necessary.
  • Respond to special requests for assistance from other departments; provide event setup, and other duties as assigned by Director or Shift Leader.
  • Other responsibilities as determined by management.

Job Requirements:


Knowledge:


  • High school degree required.
  • 02 years of solid experience in the housekeeping industry preferably in a postsecondary institution.

Skills:


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a wide variety of populations.
  • Superior organization, prioritization, selfmotivation, and problem resolution skills.

Abilities and Attributes:


  • Ability to analyze problems and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to interact effectively as either a leader or as a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Ability to listen to customers (e.g. students, staff, etc.) and to understand and respond positively to their requests
  • Ability to work without close supervision and to set one's own priorities.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to stand and walk for lengthy periods of time.
