Position Overview:
Reporting to the Operations Manager of Microbiology Department in Shared Hospital Laboratory, you will be responsible for performing duties in the specimen receiving area.

Requirements:
- Michener Institute Certificate, or equivalent as a Laboratory Assistant, or Career Canada Certificate, or OSMT / MLPAO.
- Preferred 6 months of experience in bacteriology
- Demonstrated problem recognition and problem solvingskills.
- Demonstrated good organizational skills, ability to organize work and set priorities
- Ability work independently or as a team member in a fast
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
- Demonstrates values consistent with hospital Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation
- Utilize protective equipment provided and identify and reports hazards
- Engages in ethical conduct and strives to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient/staff population and community.
- Excellent work performance and attendance
