SUMMARY:
_


Under general supervision and within department standards, responsible for general accounting functions while maintaining established accounting practices, reporter and data administration, customer invoicing, process vendor invoices, issue payment and interface with customer and vendors.


_DUTIES &


RESPONSIBILITIES:
_


  • Daily audit of sales orders, customer purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure the price and quantities matches, note the explanation for variance and price override.
  • Verify and process vendor invoices.
  • Review statements and follow up with vendors on any old outstanding invoices.
  • Process employee expense claims including verifying and reconciling supporting documents.
  • Processes weekly check runs and post direct/preauthorized/online payments.
  • Monthly reconciliation of AP Intercompany accounts and prepare monthly payments.
  • Monthly reconciliation of Other AP accounts.
  • Validate credit card and out of pocket expense transaction for proper GL and taxes on SAP Concur and retrieve supporting documents.
  • Process the monthly commission payments to independent representatives.
  • Manage petty cash fund.
  • Update freight information from daily freight manifest.
  • Assist Controller with month end, year end and audit functions.
  • Issue POs for office and shipping supplies for office and warehouse team
  • Assist with customer collection and provide backup for Accounts Receivable Administrator
  • Actively supports Pelican's commitment to Quality and all quality objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvements.
  • Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned by Divisional Controller or Operations Manager.

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:
_


  • College diploma in an accounting or related field
  • 2+ year's onthejob experience.
  • Requires general knowledge of accounting functions and procedures.
  • Exceptionally good math, writing and data entry skills
  • Must have exceptional written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word and Power Point.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Reporting Analysis skillset.
  • Must be detailsoriented, organized, and able to prioritize workload.
  • Must have ability to complete assignment within period specified by Divisional Controller or Operations Manager.
  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills and interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Must be able to operate in a fastpaced organization and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
