About the Role


Provides confidential secretarial, clerical, financial, and administrative assistance to the Chair of the Department of Earth Sciences (EASC), the supervisor and departmental committees.

Responds to requests for information on behalf of the Chair; schedules appointments and maintains the Chair's calendar; handles routine and general problems; assists with the preparation of reports and correspondence; types letters, reports, research papers, and general and confidential correspondence; creates, reviews, archives and maintains electronic and paper based files and records; provides clerical support; maintains accurate departmental records (i.e., database, spreadsheet and committee meetings minutes); coordinates faculty appointments, renewals, tenure and promotion, leaves, and salary reviews; provides a range of secretarial and clerical support services for events, workshops, seminars, and special events.

Assists in the preparation and processing of journal vouchers, budget transfers and research appointments, ensuring submissions meet University regulations and reviews travel and business expense claims.
