Job Duties


We are a travel and vacation rental company looking for an individual to help assist with accounting and administrative duties.

This will be an integral role and it is imperative that the individual hired has exceptional attention to detail. We are looking for someone who is a good communicator and who can switch gears quickly. You will be required to work from our office in the Delta area. Duties and responsibilities will include bookkeeping, assisting with office administration, and other clerical duties as needed. Duties are not limited to those listed below and may include othertasks as directed by management.

As an Accounting Technician, you will be an essential part of our financial team, responsible for a range of tasks to support the accurate and efficient management of financial data and transactions


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems. Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements.
  • Utilize QuickBooks Time to accurately record employee working hours and project time tracking.
  • Ensure seamless integration between QuickBooks Time and QuickBooks Accounting for payroll processing.
  • Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms, ROE, T4, T4A and other government documents.
  • Accurately process and manage owner payouts, ensuring they are made on time and in accordance with agreedupon terms.
  • Address agent inquiries and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Issue agent commission statements with conversion to CAD when required.
  • Calculate and prepare cheques for utility, tax and other bills.
  • Prepare tax returns and perform other personal bookkeeping services.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all transactions and communications.
  • Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Multiple Bank Reconciliation
  • Create and update Key Performamce Indicator Graphs and financial activity. Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports.
  • Dispute Credit Card Chargebacks.

Skills Requirements

  • Trams Back Office : 2 year minimum experience
  • Quickbooks Accounting & Quickbooks Time : 2 year minimum experience
  • WebRezPro : 2 year minimum experience
  • Apollo, Travelport & Travelport+ : 2 year minimum experience
  • ClientBase Online : 1 year minimum eperience
  • Asana : 1 year minimum eperience
  • Administrative assistant: 1 year minimum eperience
  • Working knowledge of VRBO & AIRBNB
  • Working knowledge of Government of Canada and Provincial Website.
  • Secondary Education: atleast a one/two year diploma/certificate.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Teams, and Excel.
  • Excellent Command of English, both Written and Verbal.
  • Experience in the travel/hospitality industry would be beneficial, but not necessary.
  • Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills.
  • Problem Solver and working with staff and agent issues.

Salary:
$25.00 per hour


Flexible Language Requirement:

  • French not required

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Delta, BC V4M 3G3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
