Reporting to the Manager, Investment Operations & Finance, the Assistant Manager, Investment Operations and Finance is responsible for supporting and participating in a wide range of operational and risk management activities of the Canadian Investment Division.

The Assistant Manager, Investment Operations and Finance will work in a team of 4 to 5 individuals and will be accountable for the following activities:


What you will do

  • Support and maintain the risk monitoring, reporting, and control activities for the Canadian Investment Division, including Operational Risk Management and Risk Policy Assurance
  • Support and maintain the Business Continuity Management Program for the Canadian Investment Division, liaising with Business Units within the division
  • Conduct operational reviews of external borrowers of Canada Life, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations for new and existing Investment business
  • Conduct fund oversight activities to ensure fund managers follow documented policies and procedures relating to fund management activities
  • Provide support on strategic projects, financial analysis or other responsibilities as identified

What you will bring

  • Professional accounting designation, working toward completion of a designation, or equivalent experience preferred
  • 45 years relevant work experience
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problemsolving skills
  • High level effective oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of investment operations and related risks is considered an asset
  • Adaptable to changing work demands
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
