Reporting to the Manager, Investment Operations & Finance, the Assistant Manager, Investment Operations and Finance is responsible for supporting and participating in a wide range of operational and risk management activities of the Canadian Investment Division.

The Assistant Manager, Investment Operations and Finance will work in a team of 4 to 5 individuals and will be accountable for the following activities:

What you will do

Support and maintain the risk monitoring, reporting, and control activities for the Canadian Investment Division, including Operational Risk Management and Risk Policy Assurance
Support and maintain the Business Continuity Management Program for the Canadian Investment Division, liaising with Business Units within the division
Conduct operational reviews of external borrowers of Canada Life, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations for new and existing Investment business
Conduct fund oversight activities to ensure fund managers follow documented policies and procedures relating to fund management activities
Provide support on strategic projects, financial analysis or other responsibilities as identified

What you will bring

Professional accounting designation, working toward completion of a designation, or equivalent experience preferred
45 years relevant work experience
Strong critical thinking, analytical and problemsolving skills
High level effective oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of investment operations and related risks is considered an asset
Adaptable to changing work demands
Demonstrated attention to detail
