- Leveraging your excellent customer service skills, you will promote a positive experience for donors throughout the collection process and take initiative to ensure that donors are engaged, and their needs are met.
- Utilizing your superior interpersonal and communication skills, you will greet and assist all plasma donors as they progress through the donation process in an engaging and positive manner.
- You will apply your experience and training in phlebotomy to perform venipuncture according to established standards, monitoring donors for safety and comfort, and providing post-donation care and instruction.
- Your excellent attention to detail will be utilized in ensuring completeness of information in our IT system for products, when completing the labelling process for products, and when preparing products for shipment to our testing facilities.
- Drawing on your knowledge or experience in continuous improvement, you will contribute to the framework of continuous improvement and implementation of best practice standards with the team.
- Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution, preferably in science/health-related fields of study.
- Completion of an accredited training program in phlebotomy is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience working with the public, particularly in a high customer-focused environment.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and programs. Previous knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook are considered assets.
- Knowledge of and experience working with current Good Manufacturing Practices.

About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular part-timePlasma Associate to join our dynamic Plasma Operations team.
The Plasma Operations is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by collecting plasma establishing the planning framework and operational infrastructure necessary to meet plasma collection goals, advancing our strategy in securing a domestic supply of plasma for immune globulin and ensuring Canadians have access to these life-saving products. In this role, you will act as an ambassador of the plasma donation program and promote and contribute to a collaborative and donor-centric work environment.
