- Performing equipment repairs within planned time frames and completing the related record-keeping
- Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and codes to determine layout, type and size of pipe, and tools to use
- Applying knowledge of system operation to select the most suitable pipe type and size
- Performing general maintenance work including replacement of worn components
- According to specifications, install support equipment like hangers, brackets, pneumatic equipment, and hydraulic cylinders
- Inspect the worksite to ensure no obstructions to the pipe and if there are any holes or interference, repair or modify the design
- Cutting pipes using handheld and power tools like hammer and chisel, cutting torch, pipe cutter, and pipe cutting machine
- Threading and bending pipes using pipe bending tools and threading machines
- Assembling and installing tubes, fittings, and non-metallic attachments.
- Joining pipes using threads, soldering, welding, brazing, or cemented connections
- Checking systems for leaks
- Inspecting piping systems and machinery to detect machinery malfunctions
You have: - A valid Red Seal Pipefitter certification
- Heavy industry experience
- Commitment to working safely and creating a safe work place
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently with little supervision
Compensation Package: - The hourly pay rate for this position will follow the collective agreement between Unifor 1115 and Cariboo Pulp & Paper Company
