Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reports to Plant Manager.
- Experience working in a unionized environment covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- Monitor daily shipping activities and processes conducted by the shipping team to ensure the highest level of customer service is attained and that all shipping department KPIs are met prioritizing safety first.
- Communicate and work closely with the Operations Manager.
- Responsible for team member training and development, and providing all employees with the tools, information, and materials/parts necessary to perform assigned tasks. Monitors and appraises employees' performance and development requirements and conducts performance checkins to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Must be able to conduct root cause analysis and quickly resolve problems by implementing appropriate corrective actions and preventing reoccurrence.
- Oversee inventory management, transactions and documentation and carry out regular inventory reconciliation. Participate in plant wide physical inventories when scheduled.
- Pull daily report from Power BI on what's available to ship, then print off Pick / Pack daily orders and issue them to shippers/receivers at the start of shift according to customer and company requirements.
- Ability to communicate with carriers and customers regarding order pickups (Will calls, Dock Scheduler Tool, Customers Shipping Portal).
- Monitor all outbound/inbound shipments to meet deadlines.
- Follow Carlisle Shipping Manual.
- Deep dive weekly into Home Depot, CDN Tire, Home Hardware Shipping Fines.
- Follow all Environmental, Health & Safety Policies/Procedures and Quality Procedures.
- Capable of following Shipping, Environmental, Health & Safety Policies/Procedures and Quality Procedures.
Requirements:
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 3 to 5 years' supervisory experience in a fastpaced warehouse environment.
- Capable of lifting to 50lbs.
- Team player with excellent leadership skills, able to motivate others, negotiate effectively and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience supervising employees using Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) including counterbalance, reach, and related mobile lifting devices.
- Knowledge of spill cleanups and response, as well as WHMIS/GHS procedures.
- Knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) requirements.
- Computer Literate and working knowledge of Microsoft Windows + Office. JD Edwards/SAP Preferred.
- Flexibility to work overtime, evenings, nights, or weekends.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Any other duties required by Plant Manager and/or Operations Manager.
