    Role Summary


    Job Summary - Responsible for the product development, release, and validation of automotive components and/or systems as per global engineering standards at the divisions through the entire product life cycle. Plans and designs structural products and systems, and directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and re-work procedures of structural products and systems.

    Education - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study required; Master's Degree preferred

    Experience - Minimum (3-5) years of related experience required; (5-7) years of related experience preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, Ability

    Proficient in English language (written and verbal communication)

    Product development and innovation skills including PLM, GD&T, VA/VE, and FMEA

    Product performance of structural assemblies: Chassis, BIW, Battery Trays, etc.

    Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, capabilities, and quality systems such as forming, casting, joining, etc.

    Knowledge of metal forming and joining processes

    Capable of handling projects from inception to completion with respect to timing, concept, feasibility, design, construction, try-out, launch, and logistics

    Knowledge of laboratory mechanical testing (tensile, hardness, metallurgy)

    Familiar with automotive quality requirements (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Controls Plans, SPC)

    Knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
