What you'll do
- As a member of the Cyber Security Infrastructure team, you may perform a combination of the following tasks:
- Administrate, support, and configure various security platforms including: Vulnerability management, Web proxy, Endpoint
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining service health. Ensuring systems are at the current patch level, conducting
- Develop innovative IT solutions to integrate and automate operational activities.
- Author and maintain knowledge base articles describing guidelines, procedures, asbuilts, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Monitor and Respond to Incidents related to security platforms.
- Participate in projects including requirements definition, work effort estimations, solution design, technical guidance, and
- Provide technical support to various organizations within BC Hydro by producing reports, performing complex
- Be a member of the groups on call rotation.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience system administration role is preferred.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Strong knowledge of various security, infrastructure, and network technologies such as: Firewalls, Web Proxy, Active
- Good verbal, written, and customer services skills.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution and collaboration skills.
- Strong networking knowledge, technical ability, analytical and problem solving skills.
- DevOps experience including work automation using scripting (python, PowerShell, etc.).
- Experience optimizing systems to meet enterprise performance requirements.
- Knowledge of network traffic analysis methods.
- Knowledge of protocols such as DNS, DHCP, ICMP, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, IPSec.
- Knowledge of packetlevel analysis using appropriate tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump).
- Proficiency with Putty, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, and SharePoint.
- Windows/Linux Administrator level experience and knowledge is an asset.
