Inglenook Creche was originally owned and operated by Community Living Owen Sound and District. In 1991 their Board of Directors opted to close the Centre.
At that time, a group of concerned parents formed an organization to ensure that the quality care and philosophy of Inglenook Creche would be maintained.
From this desire grew Inglenook Creche Childcare Centre Inc., a unique parent/volunteer run not-for-profit organization.Job position description:
We at Inglenook are looking for a committed worker to join our staff to assist with general maintenance and maintenance related duties.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing plumbing, electrical systems, and
- Conduct inspections to identify and address maintenance issues
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.
- Install appliances and equipment
- Perform landscaping and groundskeeping duties, such as mowing the lawn
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems
- Check functionality of safety systems
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from Supervisor or management
- Keep accurate records of maintenance performed and materials used
- Coordinate and obtain quotes with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of common areas and facilities

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in maintenance or a related field preferred
- High school Diploma or GED
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificates
- Satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment and systems
- Experience using hand and electrical tools
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Leadership skills to supervise and coordinate maintenance staff and contractors
