Inglenook Creche was originally owned and operated by Community Living Owen Sound and District. In 1991 their Board of Directors opted to close the Centre.

At that time, a group of concerned parents formed an organization to ensure that the quality care and philosophy of Inglenook Creche would be maintained.

From this desire grew Inglenook Creche Childcare Centre Inc., a unique parent/volunteer run not-for-profit organization.


Job position description:

We at Inglenook are looking for a committed worker to join our staff to assist with general maintenance and maintenance related duties.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

Duties:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing plumbing, electrical systems, and

HVAC units

• Conduct inspections to identify and address maintenance issues
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.
• Install appliances and equipment
• Perform landscaping and groundskeeping duties, such as mowing the lawn
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems
• Check functionality of safety systems
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from Supervisor or management
• Keep accurate records of maintenance performed and materials used
• Coordinate and obtain quotes with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or

installations

• Ensure the cleanliness and safety of common areas and facilities
• Assist with

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in maintenance or a related field preferred
• High school Diploma or GED
• Valid First Aid and CPR certificates
• Satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen
• Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment and systems
• Experience using hand and electrical tools
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
• Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
• Leadership skills to supervise and coordinate maintenance staff and contractors
