Job Requirements

  • Postsecondary education in Civil Engineering Technology or related field, and eligible for a Certified Engineering Techologist (C.E.T.) designation is required.
  • Strong demonstrated experience in an urban municipal public works environment and experience with engineering plan review and formal approval processes is required.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Municipal Act (O.Reg. 366/18, amending Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways), Accessibility for Ontarioans with Disabilities Act, Highway Traffic Act, the Ontario Traffic Manual, as well as the Occupantional Healtth and Safethy Act and Regulations, Electrical Safety Codes, provincial statues and other Regulations that are in accordance with job responsibilities are required.
  • Strong prioritizing, problem solving, conflict resolution, collaboration, organizational and planning skills as well as the ability to multitask.
  • Strong verbal and written communication as well as report writing skills.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision and to exercise judgement.
  • Class "G" Driver's Licence in good standing with own reliable vehicle for use on corporate business.
