Brief Overview:
- Under the supervision of the MN-S Climate Change Manager, Métis Nation
- Saskatchewan is seeking a dynamic and detail oriented Solar Program Coordinator to contribute to the development, implementation, and administration of the new MN-S Home Efficiency Initiative (HEI), a program aimed at increasing energy efficiency for Métis homeowners throughout Saskatchewan.
- This role is responsible for overseeing all service delivery aspects of the solar panel component of the HEI program and is required to work closely with staff counterparts in the Ministry of Social Infrastructure. It is a fulltime position based out of the MN-S head office in Saskatoon, SK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing contact, communication and coordination with Métis homeowners and contractors to ensure the construction phase is appropriately managed and executed.
- Monitor service delivery expectations by overseeing an extensive list of qualified contractors and preferred vendors that can guarantee successful installation of solar panels and related equipment on citizen homes.
- Prepare and maintain project records, reports, and status updates for internal and external stakeholders, as required.
- Support the development of program plans, schedules and monitor progress against established milestones.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Métis citizens, MN-S staff, external organizations, and government partners as they relate to energy efficiency and housing initiatives.
- Other duties/responsibilities as determined by the Climate Change Manager, Director of Environment and Director of Social Infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Business or Public Administration, Planning, Project Management or a related field.
- Three to five years' demonstrated experience in program administration or project management in the renewable energy and/or housing sectors.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience that relates to the duties and responsibilities of this role may be considered.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of Métis culture.
- Knowledge of general office policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of construction, housing development, project management, affordable housing delivery, grant processes, and local government functions.
- Knowledge of applicable bylaws, procedures, programs and regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication skills including speaking, writing, and active listening skills, including professional telephone etiquette.
- Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Word, Excel, database software, electronic communication tools such as Microsoft Outlook).
- Proficiency with basic office equipment (i.e. fax, photocopier, digital camera, shredder, and scanner).
- Strong timemanagement skills along with the ability to prioritize daily tasks, organizational skills, and effective decisionmaking abilities.
- Willingness to work within a team environment.
- Adaptive to environmental or governmental priority shifts.
- Salesforce experience is an asset.
Additional Requirements:
- A valid Saskatchewan driver's license and access to reliable transportation would be required.
- Travel and working outside of normal business hours may be required.
