Dispatcher for Sprinter Van Division - Listowel, Canada - Conex Freight Forwarding Inc

We are looking to hire a full time dispatcher to run our sprinter van division with the possibilty to also run our local van division.

The new emplyoee will have excellent attention to detail, understand the act with urgency with all communication, scheduling and excellent customer service skills.

They will also have the ability to calmly create solutions to unexpected problems, analytical thinker with the ability to think on their feet and make adjustments.

This is a fast paced, hands on position an requires the ability to communicate effectively with drivers, customers and fellow team members


Responsibilities:

• Soley responsible for running the sprinter van divison
• Coordinate and manage the most efficient loads to remain cost effective, combining shiments based on their routes and timeline to minimize how many company trucks and drivers are utilized
• Determine the best delivery methods and negotiate rates directly with vendors and customers
• Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods
• Exceptional ability to schedule drivers, plan routes and dispatch drivers to customer locations
• Source and books loads on Load Link
• Process requests for quotes and follow up to secure loads
• Monitor and track shipments to ensure ontime delivery, remaining space available and hours or service
• Enter and update orders into the dispatch software
• Prepare ACE and ACI paperwork for customs
• Able to quickly and efficiently make changes, deal with challenges and make solid decisions

Skills:

• Strong typing skills for data entry and documentation purposes
• Knowledge of supply chain operations and logistics processes
• Knowledge of ACE and ACI systems
• Ability to make quick decisions, multi task, resolve conflict and solve problems
• Excellent communication skillds with a professionally with drivers and members of your team
• Knowledge of US/Canada geography
• Experience working with thirdparty logistics (3PL) providers is a plus

Requirements:

• High school diploma
• Knowledge of the transportation industry
• Knowledge fo ACE and ACI
• 1 to 2 years experience as a dispatcher

$24.00-$26.00 per hour
