We are currently looking for a

Telecom Project Manager to join our Telecom team in a permanent position. Reporting to the Sr. Engineering Specialist - Telecommunications, will assist in the development and implementation of capital projects. You will be required to work closely with members of the Telecom team, T&D Technical Services, T&D operations, as well as other technical groups, to ensure the projects are developed in accordance with company guidelines and successfully implemented. You will assist in activities to produce project approval filings for internal and external regulatory approval. You will be responsible for economic and business case development of alternatives for capital projects, supporting the development of an execution model to undertake this work and support stakeholder relationships.


As a Telecom Project Manager you will:

  • Ensure that project management processes and procedures are implemented to support the successful development and completion of projects.
  • Assist in management of contractors and consultants.
  • Continually ensure effective communication with key project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate weekly and monthly status reporting and track and follow up on open action items.
  • Participate and contribute to project team status review meetings.
  • Support procurement activities including; preparation of Purchase Requisitions, Statements of Work, RFP packages, responding to RFIs and participating in proposal evaluations.
  • Participate in Lessons Learned exercises throughout projects as well as at completion.
  • Assist in maintaining the integrated project plan and schedule while monitoring projects objectives and progress.
  • Complete overall planning, scheduling and resourcing.
  • Manage changes to schedule, scope and budget.
  • Ensure proper documentation, including safety documentation, is created, maintained and archived.
  • Keep abreast of industry development, standards, regulations, and codes.
  • Keep track of the project financial data (including project budgets, quarterly forecasts, monthly accruals), creating requisitions and processing invoices.
  • Track purchase orders for equipment and material deliveries and coordinate material shipments to work sites.
  • Coordination of field installation work between contractors, field crews, field supervisors, engineering, etc.
  • Coordination with internal system (GIS, ADMS, Oracle, etc )
  • Maintain project information including project files, SharePoint sites, and directory structures.
  • Maintain project procedures for activity tracking, managing the procedures, creating tracking sheets and tracking deliverable status.
  • Create & maintain project SharePoint sites to manage critical project documentation and workflow processes.
  • Contribute to a work environment based on mutual trust and respect while carrying out all work in a safe and effective manner.

  • University degree (or community college/ technical degree) from an accredited post-secondary institute and/or a recognized project management certification or equivalent experience (project management certification is not required but would be beneficial)
  • Solid understanding of, and experience with project planning, financial tracking and document/records management.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and manage priorities.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Selfstarter who has the willingness and ability to learn new processes.
