    The Office of VP Advancement is currently seeking a Full-time Temporary Relief Alumni Programs Specialist for approximately 12 months.

    Reporting to the Director, Alumni Programs, the Alumni Program Specialist is a key member of the Alumni team at the University of Calgary. The Alumni Program Specialist has primary responsibility for the planning, implementation, and wrap-up of a range of alumni programs with various scopes and complexities in a highly collaborative environment.

    The incumbent will confidently plan, implement and measure the impact of alumni programming, turning ideas and priorities into programmatic experiences that support and align with strategic alumni planning goals. The successful applicant will build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues across campus and connections external to the university; they will demonstrate leadership in programming as a tool for engagement.

    The Alumni Program Specialist will bring experience in project and events management, alumni and community engagement, and collaborative planning and decision-making, to this role. The person in this role should be skilled in outreach, building relationships, and leading conversations with multiple stakeholders to achieve program goals.

    This is a fast-moving, results-oriented team focused on creating sincere, reciprocal relationships between the University of Calgary and the alumni community.

    Hours of employment for this position are standard however some evening and weekend work will be required.

    Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

    • Plans, implements, delivers, and measures the impact of alumni programming.
    • Brings an innovative and highly organized approach to their work to ensure a high-quality experience for alumni.
    • Engages and participates in programs that makes alumni's feel valued.
    • Implements best practices in program management and delivery.
    • Stewards program engagement data by providing accurate data tracking and reporting.

    Qualifications / Requirements:

    • University degree or 2-year college diploma in a related field of study.
    • 2-5 years of full-time experience in alumni engagement, community engagement or a related field.
    • Related experience in stakeholder engagement, program development, event management, and project management.
    • Demonstrated initiative, innovation, and collaboration skills.
    • Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities in a changing environment.
    • Well-developed project coordination and organizational skills, including strong attention to detail.
    • The ability to be strategic and have a growth mind-set.
    • Values and seeks to understand the principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility and Indigenous Engagement.
    • Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship management skills and the ability to represent the University of Calgary in a professional manner.
    • Demonstrated flexibility and quick-thinking in stressful situations.
    • The ability to work outside of regular business hours.
    • Demonstrated experience and comfort in online programming delivery through Zoom Meetings and Webinars, MS Teams and live-streams.
