Administrative Full-time Net New Position


Under the direction of the Chair, the Program Manager, Workforce Development, is accountable for providing academic, technical, and administrative leadership, supervision and direction to the faculty, students, and project partners in full-time programs, part-time studies, and special projects.

There is extensive contact with agencies, industry, and professional organizations.

The position is ultimately responsible for revenue generation and delivery of profit to contribute to the bottom line of the college through full-time programming, international, part-time studies, and special projects.


Responsibilities:


  • Under supervision of the Chair, facilitates the development and implementation of new academic programs and the ongoing review of existing programs to ensure continuous quality improvement, and reflect changing technology, economic and market influences, and employment opportunities
  • Oversees program reviews, ensuring the delivery of highquality curriculum
  • Coordinates sharing of curriculum between faculty
  • Ensures course shells (in eConestoga) meet College standards
  • Maintains curriculum records
  • Coordinates student retention initiatives for selected programs
  • Provides academic and administrative leadership to faculty, staff and students in fulltime and parttime programs, courses, in the potential areas of Health, IT, Business, Engineering Technology and Trades
  • Ensures programs operate in accordance with college policies and procedures
  • Plans, develops, and schedules complex activities and operations
  • Effectively allocates human, fiscal, and physical resources
  • Manages operations for academic programs and activities, marketing, resource acquisition, ongoing review, and partnership activities
  • Counsel's students and faculty regarding policies, procedures (including academic integrity)
  • Maintains a high level of performance through effective recruitment, selection, development and evaluation of parttime faculty (parttime, partial load and/or sessional)
  • Establishes the workload for faculty in accordance with the provision of the collective agreement where applicable and employ performance management measures as required
  • Works with college staff on special projects to include but limited to proposal development including research, RFP responses, faculty, support staff and departments such as the Registrar's Office, Purchasing and Facilities departments; develops and maintains partnerships
  • Represents the School/College through participation and memberships in committees, working groups, public relations, etc. including, Program Advisory Committees for programs in that school, networking events, public appearances
  • Liaises with Chairs, Managers, faculty, and support staff from other schools and departments such as Student Services, the Registrar's Office, Bookstore and Facilities to ensure a smooth operation of programs

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Education preferred
  • Five years of related work experience such as curriculum development, student recruitment, adult education, human resources, management
  • Knowledge and understanding of adult educational systems, structure and language is considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills to resolve conflict, problem solve, and provide quality deliverables
  • Ability to work independently and learn quickly from example
  • Excellent communication skills, and strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent judgement and decision making
