Requirements:


  • Create and manage ELD driver profiles.
  • Monitor HOS for noncompliance as per Canadian & US regulatory requirements.
  • Follow process to audit driver logs and follow up on any outstanding discrepancies.
  • Assist Managers, Supervisors and Drivers with ELD & Elog enquiries.
  • Troubleshoot, provide direct Elog support to drivers and follow up.
  • Identify Elog and NSC driver training shortfalls, working with Safety Programs & Services to resolve.
  • Ensure GPS devices installed in commercial vehicles are operating properly, identify vehicles without a device, and coordinate with the Fleet Department to ensure issues are resolved promptly.
  • Maintain electronic driver files to ensure audit readiness. o Request and review driver abstracts as per company, regulatory requirements, Valard policy, or as directed. o Enter driver abstracts in electronic driver files. o Monitor driver licensing status for all employees operating company vehicles, identify status changes, generate reports, send notifications to Managers, and follow up.
  • Assist with the online driver training platform and as required, assign, monitor progress, and document driver training.
  • Assist with National Safety Code Facility Audit preparedness.
  • Ensure Valard employees meet Valard's regulatory requirements to operate commercial vehicles.
  • Assist the Manager, Fleet Compliance & Safety and Safety Programs & Services to improve Valard's NSC Safety Program, Processes, and Procedures.
  • In support of Valard Construction's operations in the United States, assist with predeployment screening of commercial drivers to include background checks and Drug & Alcohol (D&A) regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with ordering GPS Systems and tracking GPS orders.
  • Audit driver files ensuring training is up to date, licenses, and driving evaluations.
  • Monitor drivers for accidents, convictions, CVSA inspection infractions, and public complaints and issue administrative penalties.
  • Monitor Carrier profile for any inspections, tickets, accidents, etc. Execute all other related duties as required.

Qualifications:


  • Thorough knowledge of the National Safety Code, Hours of Service (HOS) Regulations, Federal, Provincial regulatory requirements, Highway Traffic Act, and US DOT Regulations.
  • 35 years' experience in transportation regulation and compliance or related experience in similar industries.
  • Applicant must be knowledgeable in IFTA, Prorate, and interprovincial Permit requirements for vehicles and equipment, as well as U.S. requirements.
  • Working knowledge of pretrip inspection, weights & dimensions, and cargo securement.
  • Experience in auditing driver logbooks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
  • Experience with JD Edwards & SharePoint (preferred).
  • NSC Program Administration Certificate (preferred).
