Job Description:
SGS North America is hiring a passionate and detailed-oriented GHG (Greenhouse Gas) Specialist to join our team and perform various GHG services for clients in the US & Canada.
Those services include but are not limited to virtual and on-site verification audits, carbon accounting and emissions inventory development, emissions reduction strategy development, setting and achieving net zero targets, and providing GHG training.
Additional ESG/sustainability services for clients will continue to expand, including third party sustainability report assurance (SRA) audits and trainings.- Perform greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions verifications for clients by performing onsite and offsite audits of their operations, processes, and documentation under direction of GHG Lead Auditor
- Perform GHG and other data assurance for ESG & sustainability report assurance (SRA) for clients under direction of ESG Lead Assessor
- Maintain paperwork and documentation of audit logs for continuation of ISO 14065 ANAB accreditation.
- Assist and be trained in delivering public and private greenhouse gas (GHG) trainings for clients.
- Strong mathematical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong reasoning skills, with problem solving, and planning
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and positive interpersonal skills
- Required integrity, tact, character, and high professional standards.
- Listening to clients and asking questions to determine scope and pricing.
- Auditing to multiple standards and finding noncompliances
- Verifying calculation methodologies and resulting calculations
- Technical report writing
- Client's data integrity and associated brand vaule
- SGS employee's serving prospects and clients in a timely manner
- Revenue goals for team and division
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in science, environmental, engineering, or relevant discipline
- 2 years of experience with greenhouse gas (GHG) standards (CARB, GHG Protocol, ISO14064, TCFD)
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fastpaced, highly professional environment.
- Ability to work well with others & independently.
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Works well under pressure.
- Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
- Travel to other SGS locations or client location may be required from time to time.
- Ensures full compliance with the company's Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.
