Marketing Coordinator (Marketing & Communications Department)

Salary range:
$42,000 - $49,000


Position Summary:


The Marketing Coordinator's primary role is to provide support to the Marketing, Communications, Patron Services and Creative Services teams in their daily operations.

The position also Coordinates various aspects of marketing campaigns for TSO performances and subscription appeals.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Support the Senior Marketing Manager in drafting compelling copy for print, digital and broadcast channels, owned and external.
  • With the Senior Marketing Manager and Subscriptions and Groups Loyalty Manager, assist with the creation and execution of special events and promotions to drive ticket sales and audience engagement.
  • With the Creative Services team, coordinate onsite marketing materials and signage for TSO concerts, ensuring that they are visually appealing and effectively promote upcoming concerts.
  • Support the Creative Services team with sourcing quotes for projects and guest artist imagery.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and organization of the Marketing team's concert duty calendar.
  • Provide support to the Marketing, Communications, Patrons Services and Creative Services teams in various capacities

Additional scope of responsibility:


  • With the guidance of the Senior Marketing Manager, analyzes available marketing and patron data and uses some judgment to advise on appropriate next steps.
  • Performs research as assigned, in order to contribute informed recommendations.
  • Supports Patron Services, as assigned, in order to improve the quality of customer experience.
  • Liaises regularly with internal stakeholders, including Marketing & Communications, Artistic, Operations, Development, and Education & Community Engagement teams, in order to seek information to aid Marketing in addressing their underlying needs and proposing solutions.
  • Liaises regularly with external stakeholders, including media partners, community organizations and businesses, in order to build partnerships for promotional opportunities

Experience & Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary degree in a related field. 2 years of experience in the nonprofit arts, entertainment or marketing is preferred.
  • A general understanding of multichannel marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail while working on multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Highly organized with a strong ability to prioritize and plan work activities, and use time efficiently.
  • Excellent problem solving, planning and adaptability.
  • Strong computer proficiency required, including Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • A passion for the arts, particularly orchestral music is a plus.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:


Work will be performed in a hybrid work environment, involving both in-office and remote work (approximately 2 days in office per week).


Flexibility in hours and ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends when required (during the September to June concert season) as part of the Marketing and Communications team's responsibility to build, develop and maintain relationships with our existing Subscribers and Single Ticket Patrons, and potential Subscribers and Patrons.

The TSO requires all employees to provide proof of fully-vaccinated status, with vaccines approved by Health Canada.

A person is considered fully-vaccinated if they have completed the required regime for a COVID-19 vaccine and 14 days have passed since their final dose.
