We are recruiting a highly motivated,permanent full-time Lead Pharmacy Technician.
Duties and responsibilities
- To support and participate in the development, revision, and implementation of protocols, procedures, guidelines and programs pertaining to sterile and nonsterile compounding for both hazardous and nonhazardous drugs to facilitate adherence to national standards.
- To act as a resource person for front line technicians.
- To perform audits and other quality assurance related tasks to ensure the compounding process meets current national standards.
- To support drug distribution throughout the hospital, including day, weekend, evening, and nights shifts.
- To work closely with Sterile Lead Tech and provide crosscoverage when needed.
- To support and participate in educational and research programs and projects sponsored by the pharmacy discipline or hospital, specifically teaching pharmacy students and/or resident; as well as continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
- A minimum of 5 years of Hospital Practice experience.
- Working knowledge of pharmacy automation technology (i.e. ADUs, Autoprint, PALP, CII Safe, Swisslog Pillpick).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, team, organization and problem solving skills.
- Ability to take initiative, multitask, and plan changes to support compliance with national standards.
- Prior leadership experience, preferably within a hospital pharmacy setting.
- Support planning for facility renovation and upgrades.
- Excellent attendance record.
