**How your role will add to the story: Central Responsible Role as Information Security Officer (ISO) for information security within Mercedes-Benz Canada. Provides direction by Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling of people, processes and technology to ensure protection against cyber security risks. This role responds to critical security incidents, leads security audits, & helps to screen and suppliers and manage cyber security risks affecting the location.


This role frequently collaborates with Local Complication Officer (LCO), Legal, CIO, IT department, 3 rd Party Suppliers, Business Information Security Officers (BISOs), Information Owners (IO), departments, and end-users.

**A day in the life

  • Plan, coordinate, and direct all information security tasks within the area of responsibility to meet the global and local security goals. Implements local policies and procedures in accordance with global information security and privacy policies to support the above objective.
Support all security Incidents of the location with alignment to the incident management process. Supports triage, investigation, recovery, local communications, and root cause analysis. Including assigning tasks to local stakeholders and tracking them for completion.
Works with the Procurement and Legal departments to review and screen Suppliers. Ensures that proper IT security terms are built into contracts with external vendors.

This can include reviewing contracts and extended negotiations with vendors to come to an agreement on acceptable items and terms.

Leads IT/security audits of the location.

Requires preparation, discussions with the auditors, and coordinating the post-audit remediation action items among stakeholders with the goal to ensure all audit issues are properly addressed on a timely basis.

Creates security awareness by extending global training programs and other local training opportunities.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining professional networking; participating in professional organizations; coordinating hardware and software evaluations with vendorsAdvice the management during RFP processes, new IT projects that require Information Security risk input and guidance by referring to the MB RISE standards, local regulations, and industry best practices.
