    Overview

    Our mission is to increase the success rate of small businesses. Relay is the all-in-one, collaborative money management platform built for employer SMBs and their finance function, focused on delivering a human-centric customer experience. We help SMBs be 'on the money'.

    In the Business Development Representative (BDR) role, you will own the beginning of the sales cycle and introduce the benefits of Relay's virtual banking and partnership program while providing the best customer experience.     What You'll Be Doing

    • Ensure qualified leads are prospected; you'll schedule meetings with Account Executives

    • Qualify sales leads through calls, emails, texts, and social outreach to understand what clients need from a business banking provider

    • Pitch Relay's partnership program by highlighting relevant product aspects based on the small business owner and their advisors' needs

    • Schedule a high volume of meetings with qualified leads through outbound outreach, balancing assigned accounts with self-prospecting

    • Gather relevant information during discussions to set up Account Executives for success

    • Strategize with the Sales team to improve overall sales process efficiency

    Who You Are

    • 1+ years of experience in a high-volume sales role (e.g., retail, staffing agency, or prior BDR/SDR) or similar

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Articulate via phone, email, and in-person

    • Strong work ethic with the ability to work autonomously

    • Receptive to constructive feedback and new sales strategies

    • Hungry for growth, with a strong desire to achieve excellence, thriving in a competitive environment

    Bonus Points

    • Experience in a SaaS or fintech startup, accounting software, or neobank

    • Worked with SMBs in North America

    • Experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar CRM tools

    • Proven track record in cold calling

    • Entrepreneurial experience or worked in a family business

    The Interview Process

    • Stage 1: 30-minute Google Meet with a Talent team member

    • Stage 2: 45-minute Google Meet with the Business Development Manager

    • Stage 3: Take-home writing sample

    • Stage 4: 45-minute in-person interview with Leadership team

    • Stage 5: 60-minute Google Meet with a mock cold call exercise and Sales Leadership interview
