    What You Will Do:

    The Guidehouse Internship Program staffs interns on real-world projects, showcases the Guidehouse culture, and provides interns with a meaningful consulting experience. Interns work with teams and provide real-time deliverables in support of Guidehouse clients. Each intern is paired with a Buddy to serve as a resource that can assist them in navigating their Guidehouse experience.

    Highlights of the Guidehouse Internship Program include:

    • 10-week experience in the Summer of 2024 (Anticipated to start Monday, June 3rd and run until Friday, August 9th)
    • Learning & Development Sessions (both E-learning & Instructor-Led)
    • Performance management, including developing goals and holding Mid-Point and Final Evaluations
    • Networking & Social Activities and Events
    • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Intern Event
    • Intern Speaker Series
    • Collaborative Group Projects

    Our team helps utilities and energy companies, federal/state/local governments, and commercial entities as the industry rapidly transitions to one that is more decentralized, requires cleaner fuel supply, increased reliability, and improved resilience. We use analytics to advise our clients on decarbonization strategies, forecast the adoption of distributed energy resources, understand the impact of customer energy programs (including energy efficiency, building and transportation electrification, load management), and more.

    As a Guidehouse intern, you will have an opportunity to perform a range of analytics-related activities supporting model development and client projects. Key responsibilities may include:

    • Analyze large and complex data sets
    • Develop models leveraging statistical analysis, regression modeling, optimization, predictive modeling, simulation, machine learning, economic models
    • Program (Python, R) and use source code version control technologies (Git)
    • Conduct research and analysis on energy-related activities
    • Ability to work effectively with teams; work independently as needed

    What You Will Need:

    • Minimum Years of Experience: 0 years
    • Minimum Degree Pursued: Bachelor's Degree (Must still be enrolled in an accredited degree program in summer of 2024 and graduate by Summer of 2025)
    • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the country
    • No sponsorship is available for this position

    What Would Be Nice To Have:

    • Academic Backgrounds Preferred: Data Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science/Computer Information Systems, Operations Research, Economics, Environmental Engineering/Science, Computational Physics or other analytics degree
    • Passion for clean energy transition including energy efficiency and conservation, transportation and building electrification, solar/storage, decarbonization, resilience
    • Knowledge of analytical models, methods, applications and tools, such as statistical analysis, regression modeling, predictive modeling, simulation, machine learning and selecting and applying the right analytical techniques
    • Analyzing large and complex data sets, with strong aptitude for conducting quantitative analysis
    • Proficiency in one or several programming languages, such as Python or R
    • Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and slide presentation software
    • Experience working in teams to produce high-impact work products, reports, and other deliverables in a fast-paced environment
    • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills
    • Heightened attention to detail, and the ability to create and edit technical and non-technical written work products and graphical presentations
    • Ability to view problems from multiple angles and apply a variety of solutions to solving them
    • Ability to participate in client-facing discussions and meetings
    • Ability to synthesize information quickly and learn new skills
    The annual salary range for this position is $35,700.00-$64, Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
