1‐Temporary Part Time(.5)‐ Advanced Payroll Practitioner

It is a condition of this posting that your home unit can accommodate your temporary absence in the event

you are successful.
Under the general direction of the Manager, Payroll & Accounting the incumbent is responsible for producing

accurate bi‐weekly and/or special payroll runs for all employees, while ensuring all applicable legislation is met.

Coordinates, conducts and reports on all bi‐weekly, monthly, quarterly and year‐end (both calendar and fiscal) payroll

activities such as Record of Employment (ROE), T4/T4A, accruals, summaries, remittances, and year‐end balancing.

Ensures accurate accounting treatment of payroll transactions, and reconciles payroll related accounts with Finance.

Assists in the accurate transfer of employee information between the interfaced scheduling and payroll systems.

Critical success for this position requires a thorough knowledge of payroll legislation, and knowledge of the required


Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in payroll administration or accounting is required.
  • Canadian Payroll Association certification or equivalent professional certifications in Accounting, Payroll or Human
Resources are required.

  • 3 years previous experience processing payroll within a large computerized payroll system for 500+ employees is
required.

  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel is required and experience with Crystal Report Writing and/or Medisolution/Virtuo
Payroll software is an asset.

  • Excellent organizational skills for task completion and prioritization to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work with and coordinate the activities of persons within the department who are in positions of less
responsibility.


Salary Range:
$29.376 to 30.037
