Your Opportunity:

The Administrative Support IV provides administrative support to the 3-5 physicians within the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Cardiology.

The incumbent should have a full understanding of Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary as well as a good understanding of academic medicine in order to function effectively.

As a result, the incumbent should be self-directed in resolving issues and professionalism is paramount in representing the Department and its members to internal and external stakeholders.

This Administrative Support IV works independently and within a team environment. You will need to understand the purpose and goals of the team and bring your ideas forward. This position is a Monday-Friday role; hours are 8:00 am-4:15 pm.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education.


Additional Required Qualifications:


Completion of a Secretarial Arts Diploma/Certificate, Business Administrative Diploma/Certificate or equivalent experience of 2 years at an intermediate administrative level.

Attention to detail. Strong communication skills.

Minimum intermediate competency in Microsoft Office suite; testing will be completed to confirm wpm typing; testing will be completed to confirm.


Preferred Qualifications:

2 years of full-time experience in an intermediate administrative capacity in a healthcare setting. 2 years of experience managing calendars, taking minutes, and creating agendas. Previous experience with basic accounting and managing expenses. Previous experience with eClinibase and dictation. Previous experience with scheduling. Previous Regional On Call experience (ROCA). Previous experience with U of C Research Accounting at University of Calgary. Medical terminology.
