About the College


Toronto Business College is a private career college that has partnered with an Ontario College of Arts and Technology to offer programs to international students in the GTA.

Our goal is to provide our students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to thrive in the increasingly dynamic workforce.

Position Summary:


Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Attending inperson fairs and other events to promote college programs;
  • Planning and participating in remote and oncampus events such as Virtual Fairs, Open Houses and Information Sessions;
  • Visiting student recruitment agencies, offering training and information sessions about new programs and services;
  • Promoting college programs and services in an honest, accurate, and ethical manner;
  • Establishing and maintaining monthly targets;
  • Talking with potential students to explore their academic and career background, identify their career goals, and advise as needed on appropriate programs;
  • Advise prospective students about possible English for Academic Purposes (EAP) programs if needed;
  • Assisting with enrollment process for new students;
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records to track and followup on potential leads;
  • Providing ongoing support to students as they begin and progress throughout their program of studies;
  • Coordinating and collaborating with others in the recruitment team;
  • Other duties as needed;

Competencies:


  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and interact with integrity and respect;
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office Suite; previous experience using a database program (an asset).
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized;
  • Strong attention to detail and followup;
  • Able to work independently with mínimal supervision and to take initiative;
  • Able to meet multiple deadlines and be goaloriented;
  • A positive attitude and customer focused approach;
  • Must possess a positive attitude, ability to work with a diverse and international student body, with a strong work ethic;
  • Effective research skills utilizing Internet

Educational Requirements and Experience

  • Completion of postsecondary education, plus a
    minimum of 1 year experience in international student recruitment within Canada;

Additional Notes & Important Requirements

  • Some evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Willing to travel locally and abroad;
  • Must have a valid Ontario drivers' license and uptodate vehicle insurance for occasional travel outside the office.
