Apex Aluminum is a state-of-the-art aluminum extrusion factory located in Langley, British Columbia, Canada.

With a 170,000 square foot aluminum extrusion facility and some of the most modern equipment in its industry, Apex can offer custom extrusions, mill finish aluminum and anodized aluminum to satisfy the most demanding customer and all architectural needs.

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for picking and staging materials and hardware to ensure timely delivery of finished products.

This position reports directly to the Packaging Supervisor and has the following general duties and responsibilities assigned to their role.

Duties And Responsibilities

Pick orders, coordinate paperwork for related products and communicate with various departments. Lifting consistently up to 50lbs may be required.
Transport materials or finished products to appropriate locations.
Use computer to transfer inventories and/or complete necessary paperwork per processes.
Create, maintain, and follow processes and instructions for receiving, inventory, and shipping.
Perform cycle and inventory counts of raw materials and inventory locations as required.
Package orders as needed (includes prep work, wrapping, labeling, etc.)
Run pick lists or other related documentation.
Schedule shipments, or work with logistics team members to do so.
May order supplies, or notify appropriate personnel to do so.
Participate in production improvement initiatives.
Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow established safety and ergonomic standards.

May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.

Requirements

1 year experience in industrial manufacturing environment is highly preferable
Experience working with power hand tools considered an asset.
Ability to identify damaged products and take appropriate action.
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds during shifts.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
