- Provide ASL-English interpretation for Deaf/Deafblind staff during team meetings, supervisory sessions, operational discussions, and other internal gatherings.
- Facilitate interpretation for external communications, community outreach, and public-facing communications/events.
- Translate internal materials such as written updates, policy changes, training sessions, and organizational announcements into ASL.
- Interpret during public education and awareness sessions, workshops, or external training hosted by the organization.
- Serve as a communication support on internal committees and working groups.
- Assist in identifying and addressing communication barriers within the organization.
- Maintain accurate records of interpreting assignments and hours.
- Stay informed on best practices, professional standards, and evolving accessibility legislation.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, including training on Deafblind communication methods as needed.
- Collaborate with external interpreters as required.
- Liaise with volunteers, community agencies, educational facilities, and clients.
- Participate in team meetings and other regional activities.
- Work independently and collaboratively within the DBS and regional team.

- 2‑to‑4‑year post‑secondary diploma/degree from an accredited interpreter training program.
- 3 years' interpreting experience.
- Member of Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters (CASLI).
- Experience interpreting via videoconferencing.
- Experience in a variety of interpreting settings, including confidential, organizational, and community settings.
