    Position Summary

    The HIS Integration Developer reports into the Senior Integration Manager. The HIS Integration Developer designs, develops, tests, and maintains HL7 interfaces within the Epic ecosystem.

    HIS Integration Developers will work closely with the Senior Integration Manager, Project Management, Application teams, and Technical teams to ensure that interfaces meet the needs of the UHN end users.

    Qualifications

  • Expert level knowledge of HL7 standards (, HL7 , HL7 v3, FHIR), message types, segments, and protocols with minimum 5 years of experience within Hospital environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Completion of assigned vendor training and certification achievement in vendor application is required.
  • InterSystems Iris/Health Connect Integration Engine experience/certification preferred but not required.
  • Epic Bridges experience/certification preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and SQL.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and the ability to architect innovative solutions to complex interface challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to understand organizational requirements.
  • Ability to quickly identify technical risks or issues and escalate to management in order to mitigate impacts to project timeline or budget.
  • Able to learn in a self-directed, fast paced, rapidly-changing environment.
  • Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
