    Unit Summary

    The Perioperative Team in the Same Day Surgery (SDS) Unit at WLMH provides care to a high volume of adult surgical patients specializing in Gynecology, General Surgery, Urology, Dental, and Endoscopic procedures. Position Summary The Registered Nurse in SDS supports a high volume, interdisciplinary team and is responsible for planning, implementation, and assessment of pre and post surgical care.Schedule Work HoursDays, Afternoons, Evenings Qualifications
  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
    2. Current BCLS certification.
    3. Physical Assessment Course
    4. Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac monitoring and pain management.
    5. Current certification in vascular access/venipuncture skills preferred.
    6. Evidence of commitment to professional practice and ongoing continuing education.
    7. Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume, patient care environment.
