Retail Shift Leader

Reporting directly to the SOS Children's Village Thrift Store Foundation Manager. This position is not suitable for students due to the hours and days required.

Objective:

To assist the manager with the day to day planning and organization of the overall store operation.


Responsibilities:


Customer Service:

• Create a pleasant and hospitable atmosphere in the store and assure that customers are served in a cheerful and courteous manner
• Assure that customers are served in a clean and attractive environment by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and tidiness in the store
• Develop customer service policies

Merchandising:

• Pricing and sorting of donations
• Store displays including window
• Inventory control

Financial and Cash Procedures:

• Cash register operation
• Daily float preparation
• Assist with banking procedures and bank deposits

Qualifications:

• Ability to relate to customers and volunteers in a warm, enthusiastic manner
• Demonstrate good organizational skills
• Flexible schedule and be willing to work some weekend shifts
• Energetic and in good health (some heavy lifting may be involved)
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team (takes initiative)
• Effective time management/priority setting abilities
• Anticipate future needs/selfstarter
• Brand name awareness and/or knowledge of vintage/antiques preferred
• Passion for fashion and ecofriendly
• Strong interpersonal/customer service skills
• Strong computer skills
• Graphic Design and/or Power Point skills preferred
• Driver's License and access to a vehicle preferred

$17.00-$19.00 per hour
