Overview*The Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator plays a key role on our Quality team ultimately ensuring the products meet the required customer specifications and Quality standards that Amhil is known for.

What Will You Do?

The
QA Coordinator is a key member of onsite leadership team and supports initiatives to promote a Quality culture to all aspects of our Quality and Food Safety Management systems.


Details

  • Monitor Production and Packing processes; highlight any observed variances from standard through systematic spot audits.
  • Work with a team of Finished Product Technicians embedded in Production for effective Quality and SQF coverage.
  • Identify any deviations from standard or NCRs placing any questionable product on 'Quality Hold' and evaluate.
  • Maintain Amhil's food safety standards and follow all SQF procedures to prevent possible product contamination.
  • Primary administrator of Quality data collection system, documentation, audits, processes etc.
  • Work with all Production personnel (including Warehouse, Process, Printing and Maintenance) to ensure procedures are being followed and there is adequate knowledge to ensure Quality.
  • Work closely with Production Shift Leaders and Process Technicians to ensure clear understanding and compliance to standards.
  • Monitor corrective actions related to Safety, Quality, Food Safety and highlight when overdue.
  • Collect and maintain samples for lid fittesting and ensure retained samples of last production for all products.
  • Primary contact for external audits (Safety, ISO, SQF, FDA and customers).
  • Support preparation for SQF, EMC (Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium) and industryrelated audits.
  • Collaboration with the Quality Coordinator at Mississauga Plant to ensure alignment and provide backup support.
  • Conduct spot checks on product defects, sheet gauge, cup/lid weights and blend ratios.
  • Highlight systemic problems and improvement ideas to the appropriate management level.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and technical support to ensure proper complete understanding of product specifications for all new products or new materials.
  • Ensure SPC charts are filled out properly as per procedure.
  • Monitor repackaging operations to ensure product Quality standard is maintained.
  • Ensure traceability of product through proper date codes, packer tapes, etc.
  • Work with Sales to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

  • Familiar with GMP and HACCP.
  • Solid computer proficiency
  • Proven written and documentation skills.

  • Strong communication ability.
  • Able to multitask and stay on top of competing priorities.
  • Must be willing to work in areas of high heat and humidity.
  • Must be willing to wear all required protective equipment.
  • Required to work in areas with high noise levels and dust.
Nice to have*- Experience with SQF standards.

  • Experience with DataMetrix.
  • Familiar with Amhil products.
